Dear Boris, knowing you I am sure you will not make a lot out of this big date, in the end it is just a number, but it is one of the nice numbers that most of our classmates are getting around this year. Now is your turn for reaching the half a century mark, however cheesy it sounds.
For you in particular it is a long journey that I had pleasure following for a long time, just over 34 year give or take, since our Grade 8 classes with Galina for the math analysis and other stuff and from Shifmans physics class. Passing through immigration in Ladispoli Italy - where we run into each other and through our later years connection through chance opportunities in business. I managed to see and appreciate different sides of you as you passed through years with such ease ( you still look not a year over 40, unlike most of us) . You were always one of the smartest in the class, of very smart kids, and comes to no surprise that you done great on education front, with great success in the new country, after leaving place we all shared and that no longer even exists (USSR, what a strange animal it was)
What in the end was so interesting is how such an academic background turned into high power entrepreneurial spirit, with international flair, cross Atlantic lifestyle and family, that leaves everyone only slightly jealous.
What I am getting to is that beside a great start in life, you never stop surprising, changing and coming up with new ideas. I can only which you at your 50th to keep this flame and spirit of adventure going forward, and find ways to apply it not only in business but in other hobbies that you will find for yourself, smile more then you even want to, have plenty of time with loved once, lots of good wine and good food, and to live to at least a 100 so that we can look at our great grand kids together kicking ball on Barcelona streets.
All the best, keep the spirit, and stay happy and smile as much as you can.
Happy Birthday, Amigo
