My son Boris is an avid traveler
I am turning over the pages of the album filled with the postcards
Boris sent us (mom and dad) over the years from many places he traveled to.
There are about a hundred of them, and I can not help but smile while reading them again.
Each card tells a little story written with humor about the fascinating things he saw
in those destinations: Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Salzberg, Sydney, Paris, Deft, Leon,
London, Tokyo, Hong-Kong and the list goes on and on. And at the end of each card he wrote something like "you would undoubtedly like it here" - this was about climbing the Pyrenees or"I highly recommend it as your next vacation destination" - this was about Tokyo and Taipeior "Greetings to you from the people of Puerto Rico. They look forward to your visit in the near future."
Boris has a quality of tirelessly looking for (and finding) the unusual, interesting, new things wherever he goes and whatever he does and this is, perhaps, one of the sources of his creativity and success in his business ventures.
Mentioning the unusual: this reminds me of the card we received from one of the many places in America Boris had been to: Oklahoma, where he was hanging with cowboys and cowgirls. He wrote: "Oh yes - and I also bought a herd of feed cows, similar to the one that you see on this card. I am having them delivered to you as a gift, so watch the mail." Needless to say that we lived in a small apartment in a snowy, humid, crowded place
called New York.
Thank you Borechka for thinking of us in your travels and for always being a wonderful son. Happy Birthday and many more to come!
With much love,
Your mother.
